RETURNING TO OUR HOUSES OF MAGIC

Returning to our houses of magic takes a deep dive into the intriguing history of the roots of capitalism in middle age Europe in relationship to primitive accumulation and it's far-reaching impacts on our planet, human development, our bodies and our culture. This talk not only uncovers the hidden historical complexities but also equips you with tangible, scientifically proven tools to unwind the effects of capitalism on our brains and bodies.

WHAT DO I SHARE ABOUT?

I give talks on the history of capitalism, fractured belonging, and the pathways back to wholeness.

The fabric of our physically and psychologically constructed reality holds us hostage from our self and collective actualization. Understanding why and how this reality has been constructed points the way to what we must reclaim and remember to create a new one.

Looking at this history helps us understand our current reality in relationship to our nervous systems, our culture, and our disconnection from the earth and each other.

I also share about how we can heal this disconnection through neurodecolonization - concrete practices we can embody towards our individual and collective reclamation of belonging to ourselves, each other, the earth, and the divine.

What does it mean to have a conscious business? What does it mean to be anti-capitalist in our actions, beliefs, and values? How do we do that in practice?

Join me as I draw from my experiences as an entrepreneur with diverse intersections of identity, revealing the art of embodying our values and fostering a supportive community. In this captivating talk, I'll share profound wisdom and history around the foundations of our current cultural landscape and reconnect it to our fundamental need for belonging. Together, we'll explore the transformative journey of returning our bodies to houses of magic.

RETURNING TO OUR HOUSE OF MAGIC
ART & DESIGN FOR RESTORING THE COLLECTIVE SOMA

Art for social purpose takes president alongside endless new practices emerging for the mental, physical and spiritual health of humanity in the 21st century. But why have these practices been lost? And why are they so important to reintegrate into the collective soma (body) of our culture? In this presentation and workshop, Aliko walks you through a brief history of capitalism in relationship to primitive accumulation, it’s impacts on our bodies and nervous systems, and how art, design, and embodiment are not only an antidote, but reparations for a system that has oppressed our individual and cultural bodies for far too long.
